After breaking his own 100m record by 0.11 seconds, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt repeated the feat in the 200m race on Thursday night at the 12th Annual IAAF track and field world championships in Berlin. Like a bolt of lightning he streaked across the track in a record breaking 19.19 seconds. In the process Usain was breaking another record; his winning margin over second-placed Panamanian Alonso Edward was a massive 0.62s, the biggest in world championship history. His world record also made him $100,000 richer, taking his total earnings from the championships to $320,000 from prizemoney and record bonuses.
"I never expected a world record tonight," he said. "I was really tired but I told myself I just had to try to do my best. Now I am tired." Jamaica currently top the medals table with five gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
