In the women's 100m race, Kerron Stewart, also of Jamaica posted her fourth consecutive win in 10.99sec. Ethiopian Olympic champion Kenenisa Bekele won the 3000m contest in 7:28.64. American Sanya Richards swept the 400m field with a solid 49.34s victory; a full second ahead of her rivals. France's Olympic silver medallist Mekhissi-Benabbad won the Steeplechase in 8:13.23. Blanka Vlasic of Croatia won the high jump by clearing 1.99m. The two-time Olympic pole vault champion and world record-holder achieved this feat in very windy conditions. "The wind was turning round and round," Isinbayeva said. "It was difficult to produce a great performance under those kind of conditions." European indoor champion and new French record holder Lavillenie cleared 5.70m to take the men's Pole Vault title.
