Ireland boxing team of the tournament

Ireland's boxing squad got 9 medals at the EU Championships in in Odense, Denmark and were awarded the team of the tournament. The nine man Irish squad won three gold, three silver and three bronze medals from the Championships which featured 20 nations. Ireland also finished on top of the medals won table. The boxing gold medals were won by Con Sheehan (91 kg), Darren O’Neill (75 kg), and David Oliver Joyce (57 kg). Meanwhile in female boxing, Ireland's sportswoman of the year Katie Taylor (60 kg) beat Bulgarian lightweight Denitza Eliseevan in Pazardjik, Bulgaria, at the Women's EU Championship tournament:
