IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko of the Ukraine, beat WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev from Uzbekistan in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Saturday June 20, 2009, with technical knock out in round nine. Referee Eddie Cotton stopped the fight, held before 61,000 fans at the German soccer stadium, in the 10th round. Wladimir Klitschko, who has a record of 53-3 with 47 knockouts, was gracious in victory: "You can't underestimate Chagaev. He did everything today, but I was better."
