JR Smith elbow

In this video from the Dallas Mavericks-Denver Nuggets game on Tuesday night, JR Smith of the Nuggets threw an ebow at Antoine Wright of the Mavericks in the first half of the game, which ended in a 99-97 loss for the Dallas team. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban walked onto the court and yelled at J.R. Smith during halftime. Cuban said Wright could have been severely injured from the elbow and that he was going to ask the league to suspend Smith:

But instead Cuban has been fined $25,000 the NBA announced Friday; and in an unkind cut said that JR Smith would not face discipline for the incident. Part of the fine also stemmed from Cuban's language toward an official as he exited the court after his team's loss at the Pepsi Center in Denver-- something Cuban has denied.

This penalty was the 14th the league has announced against Cuban, who has been penalized about $1.5 million over the years and suspended from three games.
