Danica Patrick speeding

Some sports players get in trouble because of drinking and brawling; and then we have Danica Patrick from the sport of car racing. The girl racer created history when she became the first female driver to win an Indycar race when she topped the Indy Japan 300 Race last year in April.

Last month in her hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona, Danica Patrick was pulled over by the cops for going at 54 mph in a 35 mph zone. A year ago, Danica had been ticketed for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in Scottsdale and was ordered to attend traffic school. On this ocassion (December 9) Patrick was in her 2007 Mercedes; she paid a $196 fine to settle the speeding ticket earlier this week.

Danica was the first Indy racer, male or female since Al Unser, to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated (June 2005). This year she also posed for the swimsuit edition of the magazine:

Danica Patrick has refused an offer from Playboy Magazine to have sexy photos taken for that mens mag; Danica also says that she will never pose in the nude.
