Brazilian Kaka

Brazilian football midfielder Kaká, who also plays for Italian club AC Milan, is a devout evangelical Christian. His real name is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite. Kaka says, "As for others, I respect them and their right to choose to do other things. I don’t judge them. If you can do that, it’s not hard to be a Christian in a less than Christian world."

Kaka was born with severe myopia and a rare bone deficiency that stunted his growth. At the age of 16 he cracked a vertebra at the top of his spine in a fall from a water-slide. The doctors told him that 99 per cent of such cases end in paralysis; but the vertebra healed perfectly (and mysteriously) on its own and, within two years, he was making his debut for Brazil.

Technically, he is a rare blend of South America and Europe: the flair and creativity of the former, the directness and tactical nous of the latter.

Rumors are flying that English club Manchester City has bid £243 million to get Kaka to play for them in the Premier League. The audacious offer by Manchester City owners, Abu Dhabi United Group, breaks down to £108 million for AC Milan, £108 million for Kaka, and £27m in commission to brokers, middle-men and signing-on fees. Manchester City, the richest club in the English Premier League, desperately needs to shake things up because it is currently near the bottom of the table.

If the deal goes through it will break the standing record of the most expensive transfer fee in football history, which was created when Zinedine Zidane joined Real Madrid from Juventus in 2001 for £46 million.

Just like Cristiano Ronaldo is FIFA World Player of the Year, Kaka had won that title the porevious year. But the Brazilian Kaka though is the complete opposite of Portuguese and United star Ronaldo; he does not smoke or drink and he chose to stay a virgin till he got married!
